Michelle Armas!

I am dying to purchase one of these smaller pieces by Michelle Armas! One of my favorite artist/bloggers. (You may have seen her work carried by Urban Outfitters). She is terribly talented and wickedly funny. Michelle has been working on smaller 12x12 and 18x18 paintings that are super affordable. They literally sell out several hours after she posts them!!! Her larger work is major kick-ass as well. I stalk her site daily watching for new work!

What do you think? Pretty yummy stuff right!?!

Snowy day collage.

Snuggled up at home on our snow day (the dance worked), Hayden and I decided to take a cue from Cafe Moomah and make collages.

A dissected Anthropologie magazine.

A dab of Elmer's.

And some gouache. Ha, what a great word.
Gouache.
Gouache.
Gouache.

Voila!

Wedding work.

I would like to share with you a very green wedding piece I did for one of my dearest friends Krista. When I say dearest, I mean the kind of girl who (since kindergarten) shared the same bus #7... and understood the need to act as robots while riding. She never broke character. Did I mention she is a phenomenal actress as well? Let's just say she gets me.

Within the past few years Krista has been working some awesome PR magic in Nashville, promoting/selling Rodan and Field's new line, and snagged herself a pretty special dude by the name of Philip. They married last summer.

The wedding was A-MAZ-ING and you wouldn't believe her budget. I still don't. Krista started a wonderful blog called Becoming Mrs. Dial, which has been great in allowing others to keep up with her journey into married life. You can check out their story here

This painting is almost as tall as Krista... tee-hee-hee...
I love working BIG!

If anyone is interested in a wedding commission, feel free to contact me. These are so fun!

Intel Visual Life - The Sartorialist

Here's to virtual park benches...

I hadn't realized this short existed until reading Simple Lovely today.
The Sartorialist.
My favorite publication.
My favorite blog.

Anthology Magazine Presents "Print Is Not Dead"

Finally. Anthology, a tangible publication to fill the void Domino and Blueprint left in my life. This short is stinkin' adorable. I so want red hair.

Oregon Coast getaway...

I need a vacation (don't we all?). And I would want it to go a little something like this. I'm loving the Kate Towers Oregon Coast Collection and how it feels so very "wintery". Now I'm not a fan of shorts but come on... these are out of control! And that ombre dress...

I must hang these chaps on my daughter's wall ASAP. They are so very whimsical and sweet, reminding me of my favorite book my father read to us as children. Ahhh, The Wind and the Willows... "simply messing about in boats".

Obviously this owl is wise, but he is also very good at Sudoku. Logic + wisdom in one! He's quite a catch, ladies.

This foxy fellow is a bit of an eccentric gardener. He whistles "Somewhere Over The Rainbow" to his carrots and tap-dances to entertain the corn. His neighbors know that if he is doing cartwheels in the pumpkin patch, it's going to be a bumper crop year.

This raccoon spends his days in a science lab experimenting with ways to convert garbage into an alternative fuel source. Occasionally he will indulge in a snack from his test pile.

I found these fellows on Berkley Illustration's etsy shop. He has every animal imaginable! I love the short bios written for each character!

New work.

With the exception of one commission, I have been preparing new pieces to put into print production and send down to The Green Door in Apalachicola, FL. Here are two pieces out of six I am currently working on for artist Amy Friedman.

Colorful Christmas.

This is a nice break from the expected dichromatic green and red Christmas scheme. I wouldn't expect anything less from Black and Spiro. Easily one of my favorites. I frequently shop here... in my dreams of course.

The table! The wreath! The pillows!

Pretty much the best Christmas tree. Ever.

The installment piece was created by Australian artist Sue-Ching Lascelles.

Dream room...

If I was able to create a new room for Hayden...

I stumbled across Holly's blog Life in the Fun Lane today while on House of Turqouise. She renovates old and outdated furniture to create one of a kind eclectic pieces. She has a new business called Whiteberry. Serious talent!

How I love...

Windy crisp days.
Warm spiced apple cider.
Leaves dancing about.
Sweaters, scarves, and mittens.
The pumpkin patch on a cloudy day.

Here is a bit from last weekend's great adventure.
